if i ever misgender you or use slang (bro, man, gurl, dude) that makes you feel even slightly uncomfortable please tell me because your gender identity and comfort is more important than any word i may use to refer to you
Playing RPGs and board games with people is honestly sometimes a great way to get to know people unintentionally. When people make OCs they’re usually (not always the case) making them with a piece of themselves. They might not even be aware of it. I’ve had a character for three months that I’ve played in a couple sessions and I didn’t realize until yesterday was partially manifestation of concerns and fears I have…. That wasn’t even intentional either. Life is weird
One thing I’ve learned from making ocs is that they almost always end up with at least a part of you in them. It can be a nice way to learn about yourself. But sometimes it does show you things about yourself you were unaware of. Ocs are an experience.
Making characters can sometimes help you learn more about yourself! Nerd it up! Sometimes it is a manner of self care
THIS! Every character I create for DnD always has a question I can’t answer. Makes the journey one I’m more invested in and assists with my self care. My therapist has told me to never stop playing RPGs like this because it literally helps keep me alive and sane.
